How accurate are Nivra's health scores?
Our scores are calculated from real data — ingredient lists, nutrition facts, Nutri-Score ratings, NOVA processing groups, and a list of 30+ harmful additives. They're consistent and transparent, but they're opinions based on available data, not medical diagnoses. Always verify with the manufacturer if you have a specific concern.
Why is a specific product not in your database?
Nivra pulls from Open Food Facts, which has over 3 million products, but it's community-maintained and not complete. If a product isn't found, you can still use our AI photo scan to get an estimated score from the packaging.
How do I cancel my Nivra Pro subscription?
Go to your iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Nivra → Cancel Subscription. Your Pro features stay active until the end of your current billing period. We never charge you after cancellation.
How do I delete my account?
Open Nivra → Account tab → scroll to Delete Account → confirm. All your data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can also request deletion from the web.
Does Nivra work without an internet connection?
Previously scanned products are cached on your device so you can view them offline. New scans, AI chat, and photo recognition require a connection.
Is my scan history private?
Yes. Your scans are stored under your account only. We don't share them, sell them, or use them for advertising. Ever. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I use Nivra if I have food allergies?
Nivra flags allergens you select during onboarding, but we cannot guarantee completeness or accuracy. Always verify directly with the product manufacturer if you have a severe allergy. Our allergen detection is a safety net, not a primary source of truth.
What's "Kid Safe Mode"?
An optional filter for parents that applies stricter rules (lower sugar/sodium thresholds, flags artificial dyes and sweeteners) and hard-blocks alcohol and tobacco products. Toggle it on in Account → Settings → Kid Safe Mode.
How does the AI chat work?
When you ask a question about a product, we send the product details and your question to Anthropic's Claude API. Claude generates a response based on the ingredients and nutrition data. We don't use your messages to train models, and Anthropic does not retain them per their API terms.
